ICT services sector development (ISSD)

The Interliaise ICT Services Sector Development (ISSD) programme offers NGO’s, governments, international organizations, private investors and other donor organizations a tool and the experience to collaborately stimulate and accelerate the development of a sustainable, competitive, innovative and inclusive information society in developing countries

The programme aims to stimulate local demand for ICT services. Introducing new successful ICT services will make individuals, companies and society seriously consider ICT as a solution for their particular problem. It broadens the horizon of many.

Last but not least partnering in the ISSD programme is an excellent example of how to include Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in border crossing partnership. It already might fit in your current organization’s CSR policy; it certainly will become one in your future policy if you partner with the Dutch ICT sector and partners in developing countries in the ISSD context.

The objectives of the programme are:
• Develop markets for innovative ICT- based solutions and digital content notably in areas of business and government services in areas of public interest like finance, agriculture, health, inclusion, public sector and education.
• Support activities to accelerate innovation based on the concept of assisting small and medium technology companies and organizations to become more competitive, innovative and pioneering, by collaborating with strategic business partners in the Netherlands.
• Provide a forum for stakeholders for experience exchange and sharing best practices and ensure coordination between ISSD programme and other development programs in order to maximize the developmental impact.

The programme
The ISSD programme has three focus points to develop a distinctive local ICT ecosystem:
• providing assistance in mapping out the local ICT market
• creating awareness and providing knowledge among local businesses
• setting up international strategic partnerships
